The San Luis Valley Parent Institute (SLVPI) was formed in 2001 in an collaborative effort to create bridges between parents and schools and to provide valuable education relevant to the task of raising of the youth of the San Luis Valley. The SLVPI embraces the idiom "It takes a village" as it works to address the needs of our youth in a comprehensive, supportive, and nurturing way. The SLVPI is an volunteer organization of educators, human service agencies, and parents from throughout the San Luis Valley. Our mission is "to increase parent involvement in education and to promote parent/school/community partnerships for improving student achievement." In this effort, the SLVPI puts on an annual conference for parents and educators. We invite you to attend our conference and to also be a part of our committee.
